David Marks has been in the insurance industry for more than three decades, having started his career in 1975 with South British United Insurance in Ballarat. Working in various roles over the next 12 years, he saw the company become part of the NZI Group, which subsequently became part of CGU then part of the IAG Group.

In 1987 he started his own Ballarat-based brokerage specialising in farm and trades insurance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The range of client occupations serviced is now very diversed and includes manufacturing, wholesaling, retailing, medical services and professional bodies.
